Pregnancy Test using the Korean Earthworm

Abstract

|
The Korean earthwom, Eisenia foetida(savigny), was used for the pregnancy test originated by HASENBEIN.
Two seminal vesicles of the earthworm were examined under the microscope.
One of them was examined prior to injection of the urine into the worm body and another was done 4-6 hrs. following the injection. It appears that the gona-trophic hormone in the urine o -a pregnant woman promotes spermiogenesis in the earth-worm..
The earthworm, Eisenia foetida (savigny), which is widely found in Korea, offers another specimen that can he utilized for a pregnancy test.
